A small generative lab
The Wind Garden
vectors as a shared weather system
The idea
Generative art that teaches vectors one idea at a time.
Every brush moves by adding scaled vectors. Give it a position, a shared wind, and a scalar for how far to step, and a single rule carries it across the canvas. Nothing about the stroke is drawn by hand.
The four teaching stages build the idea up slowly: from a lone coordinate, to vector addition, to what a negative scalar does, until the final garden turns the same mechanism into a permanent field of colour you can steer.

S1
Vectors
A single arrow from the origin — a coordinate you can point to.

S2
Addition
Lay one vector tip-to-tail on the next and read the sum.

S3
Negative scalars
Flip the sign and the same vector points the other way.

The garden
Every brush shares one wind — the rule becomes a field of colour.
